The course works row by row: home row F and J, D and K, S and L, A and semicolon, then a review, followed by the same finger pairs on the top row and the bottom row with their own reviews. It then moves to full alphabet sentences, Shift capitals, numbers 1 to 5, numbers 6 to 0, and a symbols lesson. Every lesson button is named, such as Top: E I, so you can jump to the row you want.
Each key carries a blue top edge if the left hand should press it and a green top edge for the right hand, with the space bar left neutral grey. The key you need next lights up orange, and in the hand guide above the text, the finger assigned to that key lifts and glows so you can see which finger to move.
No. There is no WPM counter, accuracy percentage or timer on this page, because it is a finger placement drill rather than a test. For a measured score, use one of the typing speed test tools listed under Typing Tests and Games in the sidebar.
No, the keyboard shown on screen is a visual guide only and does not respond to clicks, so you need to type on a physical keyboard. A wrong key turns that character red and the cursor stays put until you press the correct key, and finishing a line moves you to the next lesson automatically.
